The Easter fasts are over in a few days and we are preparing to welcome the Resurrection by consuming the traditional spear and flauna. But there are some tips to keep in mind to avoid the unpleasant surprises of the "overloaded" scale:

1. Try to make flauns with fewer eggs and use the equal exchange: 1 egg = 1 egg white + 1 tablespoon oil (eg if you need 10 eggs use 5 more eggs 5 egg whites and 5 tablespoons oil).

2. To reduce the sugar in the flavonoids and consequently the calories, reduce the sugar to 1/3 of the amount stated in the recipe and add rosewater to taste. Use raisins and remove the sugar completely. Reduce the amount of raisins you use by 1/3.

3. If you have been fasting for 50 days, do not abruptly eat excessive animal foods high in fat, to avoid stomach upsets.

4. Limit the abuse of lamb and combine it with some less fatty meat (such as pork, chicken).

5. Cook your soup in vegetable broth and not in meat broth.

7. Enrich your table with salads or seasonal vegetables, eat twice as much salad as usual.

8. Serve yogurt with fruit as one of your desserts.

9. Limit alcohol consumption. Do not forget that, according to world standards, the daily amount of alcohol for a man is 2 drinks and for a woman 1 drink per day.

10. Keep the eggs from cracking and use them in salads.

Some useful tips for the Easter table:

1. Do not go to parties hungry, eat something light at home 1 hour before.

2. Drink 1-2 glasses of water before your meal, so it fills your stomach.

3. When food arrives, do not rush to fill your plate. Talk to people and have a light drink first

4. Prefer a main course, instead of appetizers.

5. Fill your plate once with the foods you are going to eat

6. Avoid fried and foods rich in butter and sour cream.

7. Choose white meat (eg fish, chicken, turkey) instead of pork, goat and lamb

8. Remove visible fat and skin from the meat

9. Accompany every meal with vegetables

10. Avoid sweets with a lot of fat.

11. Do not snack by hand, prefer cutlery for everything you eat

12. Before you eat a meal, sweet or appetizer, think about whether you really want it.

13. Always ask yourself the question "What do I have to lose if I do not consume it and what do I have to gain if I am satisfied with a piece or a healthier choice"

HAPPY EASTER!!!
