Nicosia: Talks in either Nicosia or Athens will be held soon, and certainly before the new session of the Conference on Cyprus at the political level, by the President of the Republic Nikos Anastasiadis and the Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras, according to KYPE.

In fact, it is most likely that the .Greek Prime Minister will pay a visit to Cyprus, and both sides are in agreement in order to reach a date.

It is also noted that there are various issues that the two sides should discuss at the highest level, which concern the continuation of the Conference on Cyprus, the demand of the Turkish side for granting the four basic freedoms to Turkish nationals after the Cyprus issue, the Greek-Turkish relations and the issue of Turkey's customs union with the EU.

Meanwhile, Government Spokesman Nikos Christodoulidis had a series of meetings in Athens today, in the context of the coordination between Athens and Nicosia in view of the continuation of the Conference on Cyprus. Mr. Christodoulidis met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Nikos Kotzias, the diplomatic adviser of the Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, Vangelis Kalpadakis, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece George Katrougalos.

According to KYPE, the discussions raised the issue of the Turkish side's demand for the four basic freedoms for Turkish nationals - which Turkey is trying to combine with the issue of security and guarantees - and how Athens and Nicosia they are handling it together before the EU, based on their position that this is an issue that concerns the EU as a whole.

However, the same source said that based on the contacts of the negotiator Andreas Mavrogiannis in Brussels, it seems to be understood by the EU officials that this is an issue that concerns the whole of the EU.

He also noted that a process is currently underway to start a dialogue to upgrade Turkey's customs union with the EU, and therefore Mr. Christodoulidis discussed this issue in Athens, in particular with Mr. Katrougalos who deals with it.

Asked about the issue of Greek-Turkish relations, the same source said that Turkey's non-compliance with international law is something that causes concern.

Meanwhile, according to information, the Special Adviser to the UN Secretary General, Espen Barth Aida, will have a meeting with the Greek Foreign Minister in Athens on Friday afternoon.
