In the shadow of the latest developments, the future of the closed city of Famagusta comes to the fore in the Cypriot news. The Turkish Cypriot side and Ankara are studying various scenarios for the future of Varos.

According to the latest information, the final decision on the future of the closed city of Famagusta has not yet been made. However, Turkish and Turkish Cypriot experts are focusing on a number of phases.

Turkish plans call for the opening of Varosi under Turkish Cypriot leadership within the next period. Along with the opening of the city, its residents will have the right to return to their homes and properties, provided of course the acceptance of the "sovereignty" in the area.

The Turkish Cypriot side considers that if the rightful owners are given the right to return, the obstacles created by the UN and its resolutions may be easily bypassed.

At this time, on the other side of the Green Line, there is talk of a plan that will consist of three or four stages. At the same time, the T / C side is studying the possibility of amending the operating status of the "Real Estate Committee" so as to create new provisions for the case of Varosi.

An issue that arises in the first phase is that of strengthening-renovating the infrastructure of Varos. The Turkish Cypriot side is preparing to face this project with funds that will come either from the EU. and the international community or from Turkey.

It is worth noting that in the new period, the T / C side is focusing on a number of other initiatives, such as the return of the Maronites to their villages and the taking of new initiatives in the field of property.

The plan for the opening of Varosi under the command of the T / C administration is fully supported by the T / C Right. So far there are no official statements or denials on the matter.
