A shocking description of the events from the night of the quadruple murder in Ayia Napa, made today at the Larnaca Criminal Court one of the injured.
This is the member of MMAD, George Charalambous, who was wounded by the fire of the executors that night.
As he mentioned, he had sat at the same table with Fanos Kalopsidiotis, who was his best man and friend, while he had baptized one of his children. Also at the same table sat the couple Elias and Skevi Hatziefthymiou and at another small table, sat two of his bodyguards.
According to Charalambous, he suddenly heard two gunshots and felt pain in his left arm. He dived to the ground or otherwise "made a barrel" as he later stated, aiming to get under the table to protect himself.
He even said that he noticed one of the children of the Hadjiefthymiou couple and tried to pull it to protect it. He added that he had with him his purse with his service revolver hanging on the chair he was sitting on. He took it and tried to draw his pistol but failed, as he said. Then, as he lay on the ground, he noticed one of the executioners wearing, as he described, black clothes, a baseball cap and "something like a mask on his face."
As he said, the executor noticed him and turned his Kalashnikov on him. He then felt multiple shots as if needles were inserted into his body. According to his testimony, he then felt that he was in an ambulance and then woke up in the hospital.
The witness was shot in the head, left arm and right leg. He was hospitalized for three days in the intensive care unit of the Nicosia General Hospital and for another 12 days in the Neurosurgery Department of the Nicosia Hospital.
He also mentioned that that fateful night of the murder was the only time he met Hadjiefthymiou's family, but he and Elias Hadjiefthymiou were friends and happened to meet for dinner several times with Kalopsidiotis.
Important was the report of the witness, that he had noticed in at least one - two cases, about 15 days before the murder, Alex Borelli, in the restaurant where the murder took place. In fact, in one case, Kalopsidiotis once when he saw this person, exclaimed "but where did they get this". According to the witness, this person was very similar to the person wanted, namely Borelli.
