Mr. Galanos stated that "we had full information from President Anastasiadis, regarding the developments in the Cyprus issue, the current situation, whether there are prospects.

And of course, he continued, we discussed with him the issue of Famagusta, the importance we must always attach to the priority and specificity of Famagusta and that with the United Nations resolutions - but also with the other resolutions - it is Turkey that is condemned and is the Turkey holding Famagusta hostage.

"We exchanged views and of course we will all look forward to the developments, because there will be developments soon, which will be unpredictable. "However, we are satisfied with the exchange of views that took place and with the information of the President", said Mr. Galanos.

Asked to clarify what he meant by unpredictable developments, he said that "we mean what is happening in Turkey, in the Turkish elections. "These are unpredictable developments, as well as gas issues and how they will proceed."

Asked if the President of the Republic was optimistic or pessimistic, Mr. Galanos said that "the President seemed pragmatic regarding the current situation", adding that the President "is a pragmatist".
