The e / k side deals with the publication of the dinner practices in Crans-Montana, at a time when the occupied politicians are talking about unilateral actions that include the enclosed area of Famagusta.

Following in the footsteps of Mustafa Akinci's statements on July 19 and after the outcome of the Conference on a Swiss resort, they seem to be moving according to the Turkish press in the occupied territories.

Mustafa Akinci had stated that "the Turkish Cypriot side is not going to wait when the appetite of the Greek Cypriots for an agreement on the Cyprus issue comes" and that "they will continue to upgrade the occupied territories".

Sources within the Turkish Cypriot community say that before the sides even moved to Crans-Montana, there were thoughts of unilateral moves in the event of a shipwreck.

What is the Turkish Cypriot side preparing?

According to reports in the Turkish Cypriot press, the thoughts concern the granting of the right of return to Famagusta to about 16 thousand inhabitants, under Turkish Cypriot administration.

Also, the return of around 4 thousand Maronites to the villages of Agia Marina and Asomatos is expected to be allowed.

In addition, they are preparing to strengthen and upgrade the Compensation Committee with additional funds and responsibilities that will now reach the region of Varosia.

Sigmalive contacted people who are well acquainted with the data in the occupied territories, who warned that this may be just the first package among others that will follow, with unilateral corresponding actions by T / C.

In fact, they did not rule out that the Turkish side and Turkey, at a later stage, would seek international support for these moves, in case it appears that there is no ground in the field of negotiation for the settlement of the Cyprus problem in the existing United Nations framework. . In other words, it is not excluded that they place these moves as moves of good will.

It is not simple and easy

However, it is not the simplest issue to put this planning into practice, as there are a number of issues that make these methods difficult.

Several funds are needed for the reconstruction of the Famagusta area, so that the necessary infrastructure can exist so that any citizen can live in the enclosed city. The necessary infrastructure in the supply of electricity, water and services and more must be done. These are unilateral illegal actions, which are currently at odds with existing United Nations resolutions, which will raise issues at international level. In no case do they constitute moves that are judged to be constructive for anyone beyond the C / C side and do not satisfy in the slightest the demands of the C / C side.

According to information from Sigma, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring the developments around this issue and, if necessary, will make the appropriate moves to the United Nations.
