The President announces projects in Famagusta

A wide-ranging meeting was held at the Presidential Palace in the presence of six ministers, officials and technocrats of the ministries for the province of Famagusta.

The purpose of the meeting was to review the progress of the projects announced by President Anastasiadis during his previous visit to the province of Famagusta in 2015, amounting to € 95 million and to record and evaluate the cost of new projects to be announced by President Anastasiadis, in the planned for September 11 his new visit to the province, in the context of his announcements for new projects in all the provinces.

According to information, among the projects discussed was the creation of a Famagusta district court on Giorki Papadopoulou Street in the center of Paralimni.

The whole project has been costed at € 5,5 million.

The construction of the building will be done in two phases. In the first phase, the building for the trial of criminal cases will be completed and in the second phase, the facilities for the trial of civil cases will be completed.

The project of the new Famagusta police station was also put on the table, at a cost of € 6,5 million, the offers of which were announced last May, while the submission process ends in October.

The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Haris Georgiadis, Interior Minister Konstantinos Petridis, Transport Minister Marios Dimitriadis, Justice Minister Ionas Nikolaou, Education Minister Costas Kadis and Agriculture Minister Nikos Kougialis.
