Nicosia: GEEF has started a study to change the fabric of the uniforms of the soldiers of the National Guard. The change of the soldiers' fabric is aimed at satisfying the needs to a better degree than in the past throughout the year, taking into account mainly the high temperatures that prevail during the summer months.

The Minister of Defense Christoforos Fokaidis informed the Parliament after a letter from AKEL MP Irini Charalambidou that the uniform for the hoplites serving in the National Guard has been determined for the first time through a Regulation approved by the House of Representatives on May 29, 2015.

He also informed that during the summer the hoplites can wear short-sleeved vest during maintenance work, receiving food, performing office duties, carrying out tasks such as cleaning, deforestation, construction, as well as in their free time (staying in a cabin). , KPSM etc.).

The sleeves are also expected to be rolled up during the summer season. The minister clarified that the uniform, regardless of the season, provides protection to the body, and especially to the hands, during the exercises.
