Today, another controversial trial is underway, which concerns perhaps the 2nd biggest crime committed in Cyprus. On June 23, 2016, in the restaurant "Stone Garden", businessman Fanos Kalopsidiotis, police officer Elias Hadjiefthymiou, his wife Skevi, and one of the perpetrators, the Albanian Jani Vogli, were killed.

Police arrested a total of 6 suspects. One by one, the detainees, during the trial of the case, confessed their involvement in the commission of the crime. Charalambos Andreou was the first to confess, and he was sentenced to life imprisonment. Then one of the perpetrators confessed. Marios Christodoulou, 39, also known as Bennys, is known to the police for his involvement in the commission of other crimes. The Larnaca criminal court also sentenced "Benny" to life in prison.

Tomorrow, at 9 in the morning, the criminal court is expected to announce its decision for the accused Panagiotis Pentavkas, owner of the TOGA-TOGA property in Ayia Napa, as well as to the Serbian bodyguard of the murdered businessman Fanos Kalopsidiotis.

During the trial of the case, the lifer Charalambos Andreou, referred to the involvement of the accused in the commission of the brutal murder.

Isovitis attributes the role of mediator to the accused Panagiotis Pentavkas, as he claimed that he was the person who indicated the escape route of the perpetrators from the point of execution of the death contract.

As for the Serbian bodyguard, Isovitis claimed that on the night of the crime, a guard of Fanos Kalopsidiotis would warn them and at the time of the shooting he would be in the toilet. The witness, in fact, stated that "Bennys" would receive a message on his cell phone with the indication "OK1", a code which would indicate if the target would go that night to the restaurant "Stone Garden".

In case the court finds that the accused are guilty, they will be immediately sentenced to prison, as among the charges they face are the offenses of conspiracy to commit murder, as well as the offense of premeditated murder. Offenses punishable by life imprisonment.

The verdict is scheduled to be announced today at 9 in the morning, while the courtroom is expected to be suffocatingly full. At the same time, draconian security measures will be taken in order to avoid any tensions.
