Lots of requests and problems faced by the Municipality of Ayia Napa and the Province of Famagusta in general, mainly issues related to the tourism sector were discussed by the Deputy Mayor Mr. Christos Zannettos and the Members of the Municipal Council in a recent meeting with the Municipal Assembly of Ayia Navas Social Democrats EDEK Mr. Dimitris Papadakis and representatives of the District Committee of the Movement. The meeting was also attended by the Mayor of Paralimni, Mr. Theodoros Pyrillis and representatives of organized tourist organizations.
Welcoming Mr. Papadakis and all those present, Mr. Zannettos expressed his heartfelt thanks as well as his satisfaction for the personal interest of Mr. Papadakis and his party in resolving the problems of the Municipality and the Province of Famagusta.
Mr. Papadakis praised the important role that the tourism industry has played in the economy in the last years of the economic crisis, emphasizing that not only must it be preserved as the apple of its eye but it must be constantly upgraded. He also assured that his party and he personally will take similar actions to promote the demands and to solve as much as possible the problems faced by the Municipality of Ayia Napa and the Province of Famagusta so that as mentioned the tourist product of the region to be upgraded and become qualitatively much better and more competitive.
