Nikos Anastasiadis and Mustafa Akinci had a telephone conversation regarding the opening of the Deryneia and Lefkas-Apliki roadblocks.
The two leaders expressed their common desire to open these roadblocks as soon as possible.
According to a statement by the so-called "presidency" in the occupied territories, prior to the telephone call, a meeting was held on the initiative of Mr. Akinci with the UNDP - Cooperation for the Future (PFF), the EU Support Office. and United Nations peacekeeping officials to overcome delays in opening roadblocks.
The meeting was attended by "officials" of the pseudo-state and the "co-chair" on behalf of the Turkish Cypriot side in the Technical Committee for the opening of roadblocks Mustafa Lakandamiali, UNDP-PFF Program Director Tiziana Zenaro, Peace Advisor Lina Hastings and the head of the EU support office, Alessandro Bianziarti.
The meeting took place at the "presidential" and the issue of accelerating the bidding process by UNDP for the construction of the Deryneia - Aplikio road was discussed.
