They are "searching" for high-paid positions in the public sector

Today, once again, the 159 positions of first appointment and promotion in the Public Sector are presented before the Finance Committee of the Parliament for release, with the aim of filling them as soon as possible.

The positions were deemed by the Council of Ministers as absolutely necessary for the smooth operation of the Public Service and concern, mainly, positions of senior managerial and intermediate managerial level in the salary scale A11 and above.

The chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Nikolas Papadopoulos, as well as its member, George Perdikis, disagreed, at the last session of the Committee, with the release of these positions, with the other Members of the Committee sharing their concerns and concerns, requesting information on the reasons why in certain Government Services and Departments the government is requested to release managerial positions while the needs for staff in lower positions and salary scales are greater.

At the same time, civil servants who have been eyeing the management positions included in the list sent to Parliament by the Ministry of Finance for months, are putting intense pressure on parties and MPs to vacate their positions during today's meeting of the Finance Committee.

Specifically, the 159 positions concern the following Ministries and independent Services:

Audit Office: One position of Senior First Technical Inspection Officer (Class A13), two positions of Senior Audit Officer (Class A12), three positions of Audit Officer A '(Class A11) and 10 positions of Audit Officer (Class A8-A11) which are first appointment.

Ministry of Agriculture: A position of Director of the Department of Geological Survey (Classes A15 and A16), a position of Director of the Department of Meteorology (Classes A15 and A16), a position of Aircraft Engineer A '(Class A12) and a position of Aircraft Operator (Classes A8- A10).

Ministry of Justice: Two positions of Inspector (Class A10).

Ministry of Energy: One position of Company Superintendent (Class A11), two positions of First Examiner (Class A11) and one position of Senior Examiner (Class A10).

Ministry of Labor: One position of First Labor Inspector (Class A14), one position of First Labor Inspector (Class A12), one position of Senior Labor Inspector (Class A10), two positions of 1st Class Labor Inspector (Class A9), two positions of First Insurance Officer (Class A11), 11 positions of Senior Insurance Officer (Class A10), 33 positions of Assistant Insurance Officer (Class A2-A7) that are first appointment, two positions of Senior Social Services Officer (Class A13) and seven positions of Institutional Officer of 1st class (Classes A8 and A9).

Ministry Interior: Two positions of Prefect (Class A15) and one position of Director of the Press and Information Office (Class A15 and A16).

Ministry Finance: Two positions of First Informatics Officer (Class A14) and five positions of Senior Informatics Officer (Class A13).

Ministry Cargo: Three positions of Senior Executive Engineer (Class A13), one position of Senior Architect (Class A13), one position of Curator of Antiquities (Class A13), one position of Senior Mechanical Engineer (Class A13), two positions of Senior Electrical Engineer (Class A13) A15), 8 posts of Air Traffic Controller (Class A11-A5) which is of first appointment as well as one position of Maritime Traffic Controller (Class A8-AXNUMX) which is also of first appointment.

Ministry Υγείας: One position of Ambulance Service Manager (A11), 24 positions of Rescuer / Ambulance Crew (Class A2-A7) and five positions of Clinic / Department Managers (Class A16).

State Chemical laboratory: Nine positions of Chemists (Classes A9, A11 and A12).

It is worth mentioning that, based on the current legislation, any promotions made until 31/12/2016 do not involve corresponding salary increases. From 2017, the additional cost of promotion positions is estimated at € 190.000.

Regarding the first appointment positions, the implied expenditure is expected to amount to € 745.000.
