The President of the Hunters' Federation complains about the deprivation of their right to hunt, even talking about the restriction of another of their freedoms in a enslaved homeland. Petros Giatrou launched a fierce attack against activists of foreign organizations, even warning that they will take dynamic measures against them.

Speaking on Wednesday morning on the radio station ACTIVE 107,4 & 102,5, the President of the hunters denounced harassment by activists during hunting trips, but also "invasion" of private property, talking about the violation of their rights.

"Hunters in Famagusta and Larnaca are upset. We have become free to be besieged in our own homeland, which is already half enslaved ", claimed Mr. Giatrou, warning at the same time that they will make dynamic representations in the competent bodies for the specific actions of these organizations.

The President of the hunters claimed that their members who hunt legally are harassed on a daily basis, while at some point he put them with the police who deal with the escort of the activists, despite the persecution when they violate private property.

However, the Door Service did not escape the hunters' fire either, while the President of the hunters denied that there are increased cases of poaching, as in 2017 only 7 cases were recorded.

"The Door Service deals only with illegal trapping, leaving everything else to the mercy of God," concluded Mr. George Giatrou.

In a simultaneous intervention of the Member of Parliament for Ecologists, Charalambos Theopemptos on the same issue, it was pointed out that the specific activist organizations are acting against those who engage in illegal hunting.

At the same time, he rejected the allegations of the Doctor, stating that the activists move in the countryside without breaking the fences, as well as the hunters who hunt on private property when it is accessible.

He pointed out that in recent years officials of the Thira Fund and the Police refuse to accompany the members of these organizations on their excursions, while he left very clear points about the number of complaints related to illegal hunting, describing the fact that activists detect their visits to Cyprus, at a time when we do not find where and who places them.
