The thriller with the immigrants, whose boat sank off Chios, had a tragic end on Tuesday morning (26/10). Specifically, according to information from the Coast Guard, three people were pulled out dead, after the overturning of a boat, in which 27 migrants were aboard, while three more people are wanted. The first body was transported to the hospital of Chios shortly after 11 in the morning while a similar procedure will be followed for the other bodies.

According to the first information, the foreigners aboard the boat called for help via 112, saying that their boat is in a difficult position. It is recalled that the sinking of the boat with the immigrants occurred in the morning hours of Tuesday, October 26, 2021, in the sea area of ​​Nenita, Chios, off Gridia. Investigations to find the other three missing continue by all means by boat and air.

According to the Coast Guard - Hellenic Coast Guard, so far 21 people have been rescued (13 men, 7 women and a child), while the operation involves two naval vessels, a super puma helicopter, a Greek army helicopter, a force ship NATO, three fishing vessels and three floating ships. Winds of 5 to 6 beauforts are blowing in the sea area.
