A 52-year-old man in Ilioupoli tried to end his life by stabbing a knife in the heart.
According to the first information, the man was locked in the basement of his house on Marinos Antipas in Ilioupoli and first informed his wife and then the police that he would commit suicide and as he characteristically stated, "break the door to get me dead".
Police and firefighters immediately arrived at the scene and managed to open the door, seeing that the man had already stabbed him in the chest.
An ambulance was called to the house and picked up the 52-year-old in "Evangelismos" having his senses.
Doctors managed to save him as the knife was nailed a few inches away from the heart, without hitting vital organs.
According to information, the man is facing psychological problems.
