After 25 days in the ICU of Evangelismos, he was intubated and his condition was stable, but he remained critical.

His Eminence the Metropolitan of Aetolia and Acarnania Mr. Kosmas Papachristos, was born in Skoutesiada, Agrinio in 1945. He studied Political Science at the Panteion University of Athens and Theology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and received both degrees.
He was ordained a Deacon and an Elder by the Blessed Metropolitan b.c. Mr. Theoklitos of Aetolia and Acarnania in the year 1974. He served as Preacher of the Holy Metropolis of Aetolia and Acarnania for more than thirty years and developed a rich activity. He was ordained Metropolitan of Aetolia and Acarnania on October 8, 2005.
