The annual harmonized Consumer Price Index stood at 5,8% in February, reaching its highest point since April 2003, driven mainly by continued price increases in energy prices.
According to data from the Statistical Service, for the period January - February 2022, there was an increase of 5,4% compared to the corresponding period last year.
Compared to February 2021, the categories Housing, Water Supply, Electricity and LPG and Transport presented the largest changes with percentages of 13,4% and 11,2% respectively.
Regarding the economic categories, compared to February 2021, the largest increase was recorded in the Energy category with 26,2%.
