An 83-year-old Cypriot died tragically in England, when in August 2018 he was violently abducted by a vehicle believed to be involved in car collisions. His family heard the death sentence verdict last Tuesday.

According to the facts, the unfortunate Dennis Mitellas, known as Tassos, was using a pedestrian crossing when he was violently hit by a vehicle driven by a 23-year-old. The retired tailor suffered serious injuries and succumbed on August 6 last year.

According to what was heard in court and according to the Parikiaki newspaper, the 23-year-old is believed to have taken part in a high-speed race shortly before the scene of the deadly crash. According to the officer investigating the incident, the vehicle of the 23-year-old was "caught" running at 133 km / h, but the speed slowed down when it hit the 83-year-old Mitella.

The 23-year-old was allegedly under the influence of drugs, but claimed that he took some drugs to overcome the deadly shock. He did not face any charges after the incident, as Police were not sure that the cars taking part in the illegal races were accelerating at the time of the collision.

The court ruled that Mr. Mitellas died as a result of a road collision, while the 83-year-old English Cypriot son expressed disgust for the lack of respect that continued to show both the 23-year-old and his friend who took part in the race.

This, in response to the absence of the two drivers from the proceedings in court.
