The Turkish military today dropped a flyer in the Afrin region of northern Syria calling on Kurdish fighters to surrender and "trust justice" in Ankara, the armed forces said after a night of heavy bombardment of the city. area.

"The Turkish Armed Forces are in Afrin to bring peace, calm and security," the leaflets read in Arabic and Kurdish, according to the Turkish military.
 
"Trust the hand we give you. Trust the justice of Turkey! Trust the Turkish Armed Forces! Come and surrender! A future full of calm and peace awaits you in Afrin ".
 
The Turkish army and its rebel allies launched an offensive in the Afrin region almost two months ago against the Syrian Kurdish militia YPG.
 
Turkish forces bombed the town of Afrin overnight, killing at least 18 people, a YPG spokesman said. Kurdish fighters are fighting Turkish forces and their allies trying to seize the city, he added.
