The U.S. and South Korean governments have agreed to suspend joint military exercises scheduled for August, provided North Korea continues to negotiate and act in good faith, White House spokeswoman Sachs White said in a statement.
The South Korean Ministry of Defense has not yet made an announcement.
It is noted that last year 17.500 American soldiers and more than 50.000 members of the South Korean armed forces took part in the joint high schools.
