Postal workers in Britain are going on strike for two days in August and two in September, in protest at the level of their wages, the workers' union has announced.

Workers are demanding wage increases to counter rising inflation.

Postal workers will go on strike on August 26 and 31, as well as September 8 and 9, the union says.

"Nobody takes the decision to strike lightly, but postal workers are being pushed to the brink," said Dave Ward, the union's general secretary.

"Postal workers will not have their living standards hit by greedy business leaders who are out of touch with modern Britain," he added.
