Parliament to debate and vote on next steps on Brexit Wednesday
British opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn is due to announce to Labor lawmakers late Monday night that the party will support a call for a second Brexit referendum.
Parliament is due to debate and vote on Wednesday on the next steps to be taken on Brexit, and lawmakers are expected to table proposals - or amendments - that would include those calling for a second referendum.
"We are committed to proposing or supporting an amendment in favor of a referendum to prevent a catastrophic Tory (Conservative) Brexit from being imposed on the country," Corbin told lawmakers, according to excerpts from his speech.
