German authorities have been alerted after a suspicious package was found at a metro station in central Berlin.
The area was evacuated and special forces are examining the object. The package was found on one of the platforms at Ostbahnhof station. Peripheral and long-distance S-Bahn platforms are now excluded.
Trains were still passing through the station but were not allowed to stop.
Authorities, after examining the package, found that it is safe.
The station warns that there may be delays in services.
