Judicial authorities have issued charges against former French President Nicolas Sarkozy as part of an investigation into his 2007 campaign financing of Libyan capital, judicial sources said.
Sarkozy, who denies the charges against him, is being prosecuted for "passive bribery", "illegal campaign financing" and "embezzlement of Libyan state funds" and has been placed under judicial control, the source said.
