The European Union (EU) today called for an immediate ceasefire and called for access to aid trucks, with a statement expressing its anger at the bombing of eastern Guta in Syria.
"The European Union finds no words to describe the horror experienced by the people of East Guta," the EU said. "Unhindered humanitarian access and the protection of civilians are a moral duty and an urgent matter; the battle must stop now."
