FBI agents have arrested a man planning to plant a bomb during a July 4 rally in Cleveland.
In particular, an FBI agent pretended to be a member of the terrorist organization Al Qaeda and met with the man in Cleveland.
FBI members arrested the suspect, who, after being questioned by the authorities, admitted that he had organized a bomb attack.
Dimitrius Pitch, 48, planned to detonate the bomb at the site of the US Independence Day parade.
According to the FBI, Pitch hails from the Ohio suburb of Cleveland and told police he was willing to sacrifice his life to detonate the bomb.
Justin Herdham, the U.S. attorney for North Ohio, said of the man:
"This accused, with his own words and his own actions, wanted to attack the nation and its ideals."
Pitch faces up to 20 years in prison.
