Nikki Delamotte, 30, had visited her uncle's house
A popular Cleveland journalist in the US state of Ohio, was shot while she was at her uncle's house, resulting in fatal injuries.
This event, which became known on Tuesday, "immersed" her family, friends and colleagues in mourning.
Nikki Delamotte, 30, who worked for Cleveland.com and was very popular with her audience, visited her uncle's home in Perrysburg on Sunday to watch a football match.
Police who found her body on Monday said the death was being investigated as homicide.
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic death of Nikki Delamotte, a popular cultural journalist who worked at @clevelanddotcom. "Nikki was found dead, while there are suspicions of homicide," the news website where she worked said in a tweet.

The 30-year-old journalist had recently reconnected with her father's brother, after the death of her grandmother, according to the website.
On Sunday she had planned to watch the match at a neighborhood bar, but then changed her mind and went to her uncle's house.
The reason why he changed his mind and the motives of the murderous attack remain unknown until now.
