Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has confirmed that Russia will expel British diplomats in response to London's decision to deport 23 members of the Russian embassy in Britain.

"Of course we will," he said succinctly.

During a press conference in Kazakhstan, where Lavrov is, he said that British Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson "is a reductionist".

The British Minister said that Russia should "stop it" and "go away". At the same time, tensions are rising between the two countries, while third countries are taking part in the battle, taking the side of Britain.

The Russian minister stressed that Moscow has stopped paying attention to the comments coming from Britain on the case.

He added that Britain's refusal to cooperate with Russia in the Scripal affair was a clear violation of the Chemical Weapons Convention.

He also denounced London's refusal to provide information to Moscow about Skripal's daughter, Julia, even though she is a Russian citizen and the British authorities have an obligation to do so.
