The cave complex in Thailand Tam Luang, from which 12 children were released and their football coach after being trapped for about 17 days, is going to be turned into a museum, according to the BBC.

According to rescue officials, the museum will show how the rescue operation unfolded and is expected to be a "major tourist attraction" for the country.

After all, at least two companies have expressed interest in making a children's adventure film.

Tam Luang Cave is one of the largest cave complexes in Thailand. It is located at the foot of the mountains surrounding a small town, Mae Sai, in the northern Thai province of Chiang Rai, on the border with Myanmar (Burma).
This area is not developed and does not have many tourist structures.

"The area will become a living museum, to learn how the business unfolded. There will be an interactive database. It will become another important attraction of Thailand ", said in a press conference the former governor and head of the rescue mission Narongsak Osotanakorn.

However, Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha has warned that precautionary measures must be taken, both inside and outside the cave, for the safety of tourists.

It is not clear if the museum will be open all year round as there are frequent floods in Thailand during the monsoon season which lasts from June to October.
