According to what had been leaked to the press, the wedding would take place 30 June, however, the 56-year-old prime minister and his 33-year-old wife got married in his cathedral Westminster, as reported by the Daily Mail. The ceremony was so secret that only 30 people were present, including close family friends.
The identities of the 30 guests are not yet known, but Stanley Johnson, Boris Johnson's father, appeared to be smiling outside the temple.
It is noted that the Boris Johnson becomes the first incumbent Prime Minister to marry Lord Liverpool, who married Mary Chester in 1822.

The wedding took place just six days after the prime minister couple sent save the date cards. All the guests were invited at the last minute and only a few church officials attended.
