Four Turkish soldiers were killed and six wounded during a counter-terrorism operation on Turkey's border with Iraq, according to the neighboring country's defense ministry. The soldiers were involved in an armed battle with "terrorists" on Friday night (19/4), resulting in the fatal wounding of four Turks and the "neutralization" of at least 20 militants, the ministry notes.
Ankara has not yet released the name of the terrorist group, but the Anadolu agency estimates that PKK fighters may be hiding behind the incident.
