A key figure in the successful rescue of himself, his 11 children and their coach from a flooded cave in Thailand was 14-year-old Adul Sam from Myanmar, according to rescuers.

The 14-year-old left his family to receive a better education in Thailand. He speaks Burmese, Chinese, Thai and English and was the only one who could communicate with British divers.

It is worth noting that only 1/3 of his country speaks English, however the little boy's ability to speak English was what led the divers to the spot where the boys were located, but also to inform them about the situation of the other children.

"Diamond" is described by his teachers, with the 14-year-old confirming the characterization, since his presence proved to be essential for their rescue.

"The first thing that comes to mind when I talk about Antul is his good manners. "He greets everyone he meets on the street," the school's principal told AFP.
