Giuliani took the stage to defend Trump's view of election fraud, claiming - without evidence - that there were enough voters in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada and Arizona to overturn the result. Trump's lawyer has begun accusing George Soros, Clinton and China of being behind a "conspiracy" to oust Biden.

The incident did not go unnoticed by Twitter users, who commented sharply. Guardian reporter Joan Greve wrote on Twitter: "Rudy Giuliani is sweating and his paint is running as he spreads lies about the presidential election, while another social media user commented:" Rudy Giuliani is on TV with the paint to he runs in his face, but he wants us to take him seriously. "
