Donald Trump will meet with the Queen during his visit to Britain next month, according to the US Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

The US president is scheduled to pay a working visit to Britain on Friday, July 13 - his first visit to the country since being elected in 2016.

Ambassador Robert Wood Johnson said that while the plans have not yet been finalized, they will include the president meeting with the Queen.

Demonstrations are expected in the UK over Trump's visit, focusing on his administration's controversial immigration policies, including the separation of immigrant children from parents who have crossed the border illegally from Mexico.

Trump was expected to open the new US embassy in London in February, but canceled the visit as he criticized the Obama administration's choice of location.

Prime Minister Theresa May invited him on a state visit when he traveled to the White House in January 2017.

Following the invitation, more than 1,8 million Britons signed a petition against the visit.
