Access to the American University campus in Washington was blocked, as the administration announced in a tweet sent to the university account.
In a message on Twitter, the administration announced that there is information about an armed intruder near the campus.
"Lock the doors and stay away from the windows. If you are outside, leave the area immediately. "The police are on the spot," the officials wrote. There were no immediate reports of gunfire or injuries.
