The Famagusta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (EVEA) welcomes and welcomes the Government's decision to lease state-owned land in Ayia Napa to establish a university unit in the area.
The effort, which started about four years ago by the former Mayor of Ayia Napa and current Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Mr. Giannis Karousos, was continued by the current Mayor Mr. Christos Zannetos with a positive result.
EVEA believes that the creation of the University will give impetus to the fight against seasonality in businesses in Ayia Napa but also in the surrounding communities and Municipalities, since a significant number of students that can reach up to 4,000, will live and work in the area giving life in the area and during the winter months.
The establishment of the University is another step in the right direction, which together with additional other planned projects such as e.g. The creation of golf courses and the upgrading of the sports facilities of the area, will give life to the free area of Famagusta and will help to expand the tourist season, points out EVEA.
