Richard Brason experienced moments of horror when the bicycle brakes stopped working during a charity cycling race.
The tycoon feared that he was paralyzed and that he suffered a back fracture as his first one was scary.
He reports on Virgin's blog that his brakes stopped working while he was taking a closed turn and a car was coming in the other direction.
His choices were three. To fall on the car, to fall on the cliff or on the leading cyclist, Felix Stelmaszek.
Richard Brason chose the third: "We both fell off our bikes and our heads and bodies shook on the asphalt. There is no doubt that the helmets we wore saved our lives - and this was not the first time this had happened. We were scattered on the ground and the rest of the group gathered around us. I remained motionless, hoping I had not broken my back or been paralyzed. "Slowly I started moving my limbs and I felt great relief when they responded."
In a post, the billionaire stated that he suffered injuries but fortunately was saved.
