A prototype military transport aircraft Ilyushin Il -112V with three people crashed during a test flight in the Moscow region on Tuesday, the manufacturer of United Aircraft Corporation said.
It was not clear from the company announcement if there were any casualties in the accident. However, the RIA news agency quoted an anonymous source as saying the crew is believed to have died.
A video of the crash posted on the internet showed the plane flying at low altitude with one of its wings caught fire before making a sharp turn and falling vertically to the ground.
