Russia's emergency services have located the spot where the missing An-26 crashed at sea, Reuters reported, citing the RIA news agency.
The plane with 28 passengers on board was lost while preparing to land in Russia.
Several ships are heading to the crash site, according to the same sources.
The plane, an AN-26, was flying from the regional capital Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky to the town of Palana in the northern part of the peninsula when it stopped transmitting identification signals.
There are six crew members and 22 passengers on board.
According to the TASS agency, the aircraft was built in 1982.
