An eight-year-old girl in Perth, Australia, was killed on Saturday when she crashed her race car into a concrete fence on a special racetrack where she was training.
Anita Bord was on a "test run" when her vehicle crashed into a wall, according to police. The first aid services rushed to the scene and transported her to the hospital, where she ended up the next day.
The girl was training to get a license for the children's dragster races, announced the National Drag Racing Association of Australia. She had just turned eight - the minimum age for racing under official Union regulations - and was driving a 210cc dragster, local media reported.
Ian Bord's father posted a message on social media stating: "My heart has become a million pieces. We will need… love and support for the coming days, weeks, months to come ".
