The Times reports that the Johnson administration considers that it is in the process of completely lifting the restrictive measures against the coronavirus on July 19, as is the target set.

Ministers are said to have been encouraged by the slowdown in cases and the "very, very low" death toll. It is noted that while cases of the Delta mutation doubled until recently each week, they now double every 15 days.

It is expected to be announced next Monday that the restrictions will not be lifted sooner, specifically on July 5, as Conservative MPs are pushing.

On the 19th of the month, however, the government hopes that the distance rule, the six-person limit for indoor gatherings and the limits for outdoor contacts will be abolished.

Also, nightclubs that are completely closed are expected to open.

According to the Times, despite previous thoughts to the contrary, the obligation to use a mask on public transport and in shops is also expected to be lifted, and only one recommendation for face mask will apply in certain circumstances.

Likewise, the general recommendation for work from home is expected to cease to apply. It will then be up to employers and employees to set the framework.
