The German prosecutor's office today demanded the extradition of the Catalan separatist Carles Putzdemon to Spain, where he is accused of stopping and embezzling public money after the failed attempt to unilaterally declare Catalonia's independence.
The final decision will be made by the competent court of Schleswig-Holstein, which has so far taken a cautious stance as to whether this indictment is valid under German law.
Carles Putzdemon was arrested in late March in northern Germany and has been living in Berlin since his release.
