Israel has bombed a base in Damascus

Israeli warplanes have launched a raid on a Syrian military base in the al-Kishua area south of Damascus, a commander of a local Al-Qaeda-linked al-Assad militant group told Reuters.

And all this shortly after Donald Trump announced the US withdrawal from the agreement on Iran's nuclear program.

 

The Syrian news agency SANA reported that explosions were heard in the Al Kishua area and that the Syrian air defense destroyed two Israeli missiles in the same area.

The military is mobilizing reserve forces following Trump's decision  

Earlier, Israel announced that it was mobilizing some of its reserve forces, following the announcement of US President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw Washington from the nuclear deal with Iran.

"We are recruiting reservists in special cases as required," an army spokeswoman told Reuters, without elaborating on the scale of the recruitment.

Israeli army on red alert after unusual activity by Iranian forces in Syria

The Israeli military has ordered local authorities in the Golan Heights to "unlock and prepare shelters" as it said it had identified "unusual activity by Iranian forces in Syria".

The military statement said defense systems had been deployed and Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers were on red alert for an attack.
