The small tourist bus fell from a height of 300 meters into the void yesterday morning, while it was moving from the town of Tsatsapogia in Mojobaba, in the district of Amazona, 1.000 kilometers north of Lima.
"Ten people are dead and seven others have been rescued," a spokesman for the Fire Brigade told RPP.
Road accidents in Peru are very common due to speeding, poor road conditions, lack of signage and lack of control by the authorities.
The tragedy in the Amazon region was recorded the day after Sunday's strong earthquake with more than 2.400 victims. According to the latest official report of the authorities, 12 people were injured, 117 houses and five churches were completely destroyed and several roads were damaged.
