Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has resigned after 37 years in power, according to Parliament Speaker Jacob Munde.
Immediately after the announcement of the resignation of the 93-year-old politician, celebrations broke out outside the parliament building in Harare, as well as in the city streets.
Parliament suspended the debate that had begun earlier on the ouster and ouster of Mugabe.
