In 1984, the Land Registry offered them zero compensation for the expropriation of part of their property for road construction. Now, 36 years later, a court has awarded them 155 euros for that expropriation.

Specifically, on 19/10/1984, part of a plot of land in Ayia Napa was expropriated in order to widen the road network. The Provincial Land Registry of Famagusta sent to the owners of the property an offer for zero compensation for the expropriation of part of their property. The owners, since the compensation offer was zero, did not take any action and put their offer in the drawer, not claiming any other compensation.

In 2013, after obtaining legal advice from their lawyer, Michalis A. Deilinos, they decided to file a lawsuit in the District Court of Famagusta, in order to claim even with a 29-year delay, a fair amount of compensation for the expropriation of his property. 1984.

After seven years of litigation, a decision was recently issued by the Famagusta Court, after which they were acquitted after 36 years, after being awarded the amount of € 155.000.
