The weather pattern is changing and it's going to be winter for good over the weekend according to the weather service.
According to the latest weather report, rain, storms, strong winds and a noticeable drop in temperature are coming over the weekend. The meteorological department is talking about snow on the highest peaks of Troodos on Sunday.

Weak low pressure is affecting the region, while a barometric low in the Balkans is moving southeast and is expected to affect the region from early Saturday evening.
In the afternoon, the weather will gradually become partly cloudy and locally mainly cloudy, while isolated showers may occur, mainly in the western half and northern areas. Winds will be southwesterly and locally to northwesterly, light to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort and transient on the southeast and east coasts to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will be somewhat rough.
Tonight, locally increased clouds are expected to give isolated showers, mainly in the western half and northern areas. Winds will initially blow south-west to north-west, weak and on the leeward coast to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, to later become mainly northwest to northeast weak, 3 Beaufort. The sea will initially be somewhat rough, but will later become calm to somewhat rough. The temperature will drop to around 15 degrees in the interior, around 17 on the coasts and around 9 degrees in the higher mountains.
Tomorrow, the weather will be partly cloudy and at times locally mainly cloudy and there may be isolated, mainly light, showers. The winds will blow mainly northeast to southeast and gradually locally southwest to west, weak and transient locally to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little rough, but later it will become a little rough in the west and north. The temperature will rise to around 26 degrees in the interior and on the coasts and around 16 degrees in the higher mountains.
On Saturday, the weather will initially be mostly clear, but later and from the west it will become mostly cloudy, while rain and local storms are expected from the first evening hours, with the phenomena stopping until Sunday morning. Very strong to strong winds will blow in the area. The temperature is not expected to change significantly.
On Sunday, the weather will be temporarily mostly cloudy and gradually local rains or even an isolated storm are expected. Snow is expected to fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. The temperature will drop significantly, to fluctuate below the average climatic values.
On Monday, the weather will be mostly clear with temporarily increased clouds. The temperature will rise slightly, to be close to the average climatic values.
