The Pancyprian Nurses Guild (PASYNO) asks the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY) "to speak with deeds and not with words", to implement the staffing agreement and to proceed with direct recruitment due to the outbreak of COVID -19 otherwise action will be taken very seriously.

According to an announcement, the Guild conveyed today to the Executive General Director of OKYPY, Christis Loizidis, and to other executives of the Organization, its dissatisfaction with the unjustified delay observed in the implementation of the agreement for the staffing of the hospitals.

During the meeting of OKYPY with the nurses' unions, the need for immediate staffing of the hospitals was emphasized, in the context of the implementation of the agreements without any other delay, as the hospitals are receiving extremely great pressure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Taking into account the delay that has occurred so far in the recruitment of staff, PA.SYNO. conveyed the request for recruitment of all nurses / three now, due to the outbreak of the new wave of the pandemic.

The union sent a clear message that if, within a week, when a meeting is held again, the words are not acted upon and the staffing of the hospitals with nursing staff does not proceed rapidly, then the taking of measures will be considered very seriously.

"We hope", reports PA.SYNO, "that the executives of OKYPY will take very seriously the situation we presented and the messages we conveyed and will adhere to the schedules set. "Every day that passes without staff is a big and difficult day for the nurses who struggle to keep the autonomous hospitals and to offer quality health care to the patients".
