Her young doctor, Mr. Theodoros Potamitis, does not expect full restoration of vision of the young girl who was injured by a volume of water from a water tank of the Police during Saturday's incidents in the center of Nicosia.
According to what he mentioned in his intervention in the ANT1 show "Mera Mesimeri", the operation was performed yesterday afternoon with him not expecting a particular change in her image because, as he explained, the main reason he does not see well is the fact that there is bleeding inside her eye, which will take some time to be absorbed.
The important thing, according to him, is that the crack in her eye has closed, so the risk of detachment has been largely avoided, while her vision is expected to gradually improve over the next two to three months.
"Most likely, her vision will not return to 100% and the risk of detachment will be completely eliminated in the coming months. "It is most likely that a good percentage of her vision will return, but not all of it", noted Mr. Potamitis.
She then explained that she could not estimate an exact percentage but estimated that her permanent vision loss would be around 25%.
"The amount and pressure of water was excessive. It was not a yard tire. "The risk of damage to an organ as sensitive as the eye is clear," he said.
Finally, he clarified that in their opinion, without being absolute, there will be no complete restoration of the girl's vision, since when the eye is so damaged, there are usually some consequences during the healing of the wound.
