The incidents that took place last night, between hooded groups in Limassol, are being investigated by the Police.

According to the data under consideration, around 11 p.m. yesterday, information was received that outside the Fan Association, in Limassol, around 40 people were gathered, wearing hoods and holding bats.

At the same time, a second group, consisting of 70 to 80 people, also carrying clubs and stones, approached the scene and started throwing stones, fireworks and Molotov cocktails at each other.

Patrols from the Limassol Police Department went to the scene. At the sight of the police, the rioters fled through the adjacent streets.

As a result of the incidents, a 21-year-old man was injured and transferred to the Limassol General Hospital with a fractured elbow. At the same time, damage was caused to adjacent properties, while a car parked in the area was completely destroyed by fire.

The scene of the incident was cordoned off by the Police for examination. During their duration, various items such as improvised incendiary devices and fireworks were located and taken.

As part of the police investigations, so far, a number of statements have been received from various persons.
